Apology: Brewers Fayre has said sorry to customers who spotted a dead rodent in one of its pubs
Brewers Fayre has issued an apology after a customer spotted a dead rat at one of its pubs in Boston, Lincolnshire.

A spokesperson said the Whitbread-owned company was sorry to learn of the incident and apologised to customers.

“We pride ourselves on maintaining exemplary standards of health and safety and this is completely unacceptable," said the spokesperson.

Inspection

They continued: “We have conducted a thorough inspection and are confident there is no evidence of current pest activity at the site."

“We are also looking into how this could have happened as a matter of priority. This restaurant received a five-star rating from the environmental health department on their last visit in January 2016.”

JD Wetherspoon site

Meanwhile, in a JD Wetherspoon site last year, pest-control was called in after a mouse was seen scurrying across the floor.

JDW spokesman Eddie Gershon confirmed the sighting after a customer filmed the rodent running across the carpet of the Flying Boat in Dartford, Kent.
