Secret tea room for Soho pub
A London pub is aiming to capitalise on the capital's afternoon tea market by opening a tea room.
The Coach & Horses in Greek Street, Soho, has opened Soho's Secret Tea Room.
The tea room is housed in a room above the pub and will offer traditional cream teas, Champagne teas, baby showers, hen parties and private parties.
The pub is situated behind the Palace Theatre.
On offer are 15 types of loose leaf teas, homemade scones, jams and cakes served on mix and match vintage crockery and accompanied by the sounds of original 40s jazz.
The secret element of the tea room stems from its concealed entrance which is only accessible through the bar itself.
Licensee Alastair Choat said: "There's a real opportunity, especially for independent pubs in this economic climate, to make the most of their trading space at traditionally quieter times of the day.
"We'd noticed a growing interest and resurgence for all things traditionally English and thought this would be a great chance to grow our business and offer something completely
unique from the usual chain coffee shops."
