Chefs have voted for the ingredients they believe every kitchen should have in the second annual Chefs’ Choice Awards.

Products from foodservice suppliers were entered into the annual Chefs’ Choice Awards and judged by a panel of top food experts, before the winners were revealed at an awards ceremony in London in February.

Items from cheese and crisps to nuts and cakes were included in the awards, along with the overall winner of the Product of the Year.

Brakes Group head of category Sarah Wilkinson said: “The Chefs’ Choice Awards shine a light on the best products for foodservice.

‘Great for us and customers’

“Winning no fewer than five awards in 2017 [and two this year] was great for us and our customers.”

Bidfood brand controller Holly Marrero Easson said: “Winning at the Chefs’ Choice Awards has been fantastic for us in reinforcing the outstanding quality of our own brand products. Especially as these were judged and chosen by a panel of professional chefs.”

This year the competition was sponsored by the international food exhibition Cibus and the Italian Trade Agency and supported by Food Innovation Solutions and Good Sense Research.
