Staff from Stonegate Group’s late-night bar brand Be At One have taken part in a 26-mile walk taking in as many sites as possible on a ‘bar-a-thon’.

The team members came together on Wednesday 12 July to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

Pubco Stonegate has enjoyed a charity partnership with MNDA and MNDA Scotland, for which it has recently reached a fundraising milestone of £350,000 but to boost that figure further, the team began its journey at Be At One Hammersmith and trekked a circular route around the capital, reaching the finish line some 55,000 steps later at its starting point.

The team wanted to raise money by doing something it deemed to be a real challenge, around the brand’s sites in London, and has currently raised £1,800, with funds still coming in.

Brilliant cause

Stonegate Group business unit director Sarah Miller said: “We were all so excited for the team to begin their walk and raise funds for such a brilliant cause.

“Everyone who took part knew how much of a big challenge this was and all of us at Stonegate supported and encouraged them all the way.

“MNDA carries out amazing work for those who are affected by the disease, and all of us at Be At One are privileged to stand alongside them in support of their incredible efforts.”

After leaving Be At One Hammersmith, the team visited its sites in Richmond, Putney, Battersea, Clapham, Liverpool Street, Spitalfields, Farringdon, Covent Garden, Russell Street, Greek Street, Piccadilly, Regent Street, Oxford Street and back to Hammersmith.

Dedicated to improving access to care

Motor Neurone Disease is a disease that attacks the nerves, leaving those affected unable to walk, talk, eat and ultimately to breathe. One third of people with MND lose their life within a year and more than half within two years of diagnosis.

The MND Association is dedicated to improving access to care and providing essential resources and assistance for individuals living with or impacted by MND in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. It also actively lobbies Government and works with technology giants to revolutionise life for people with MND.

Stonegate Group operates more than 4,500 sites, split across managed, operator-led and leased and tenanted models.

Its managed pubs division, which is split into Branded and Traditional pubs, bars and venues, includes brands such as Slug & Lettuce, Popworld, Be At One in the Branded division with and Traditional (unbranded) pubs are made up of Proper Pubs, Pub & Dining and Social Pub & Kitchen.

Its leased and tenanted estate, Stonegate Pub Partners, constitutes more than 3,000 sites while operator-led Craft Union has over 500 community pubs.
