Pizza, Pots & Pints, the award-winning pub restaurant format, is set to open a new site – its fourth within two years.

The Radcliffe Arms, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, will receive a six-figure investment as part of its conversion into a Pizza, Pots & Pints site.

Charles Wells, the brewery that owns the Pizza, Pots & Pints brand, is committed to further expanding the number of pubs it owns in the region, according to director Craig Mayes.

“While we’re out and about seeking new venues ourselves, we’re also keen to speak with current pub owners about opportunities for leasing their sites, or even purchasing their property,” he said.

October opening

“All Pizza, Pots and Pints locations are chosen based on extensive research to identify exactly where they will fit the best,” he added. “We then know that there’s a market that will enjoy what we do and will love the interesting venue we create on their doorstep, filled with delicious pizza, pots and pints.”

Pizza, Pots & Pints sites are currently open at the Salisbury Arms, Cambridge; and the Old White Horse, Baldock, Hertfordshire. The team is also busy gearing up for its third venue opening in Peterborough in August, with Hitchin’s Radcliffe Arms due to open in October.

The popular restaurant brand revolves around wood-fired pizzas, warm terracotta pots of comfort food, paired with Charles Wells’ beer, with offers such as 2-4-1 Mondays and live music on Fridays.

Marston's acquisition

In May, Marston’s acquired the Charles Wells brewing business and beer distribution rights for £55m.

Charles Wells pubs and other assets in the UK and France were not included in the sale.
