Suffolk-based microbrewery St Peter’s has added a new alcohol-free beer to its range.

Without Gold is the second alcohol-free beer St Peter’s has produced, and is the follow-up to its best-selling Without original beer.

The beer is described by the brewery as a “full-bodied, slightly sweet” ale with “a citrus bitterness” and is available nationwide in 500ml bottles and on draught.

Full-bodied golden ale

“In Without Gold, we have created a beer that will appeal to a nation of ale drinkers who love a good, full-bodied golden ale, as well as lager drinkers looking for a delicious alcohol-free beer,” said Steve Magnall, CEO at St Peter's Brewery.

“Without Original is different to anything else on the market. Aside from being the only zero-alcohol craft beer on the market, it's also got more flavour and body than any other alcohol-free beer available. We expect Without Gold to be just as popular.”

Magnall added that the brewery expected the alcohol-free market to grow to 10% of the overall drinks category within the next 10 years.

Leading the way

“At St Peter's, we want to be leading the way for high quality, great-tasting zero-alcohol craft beers and with two terrific products in our portfolio, we are well on the way to doing just that,” he said.

Earlier this year, award-winning beer writer Pete Brown stated that he believed alcohol-free beer would soon prove as popular as alcoholic drinks.

“This is a sector we are going to see more from,” he said. “I think it will be possible soon to choose an alcohol-free beer even over a regular one.”
